I hear ya Collin. I have good friends who wouldn't pull for the Bobcats even if they were NBA Champs, so for them to try and pull fans in this base with the trash they have now is pretty laughable. It's a shame this market is so poisoned from the NBA (and of course, the NBA doesn't have the product it did in the early to mid 90's.)

It's not very rewarding to be a Bobcat fan currently. I don't even have anyone around to discuss the team with besides my gf.

I guess the good thing is you can buy the $10 tickets and sit pretty much wherever the fuck you want now. I know I will.

Yeah that was a nice win last night. Almost went to the game but decided against it at the last second. Was it on TV? It wasn't listed on the schedule but my dvr recorded the pregame and postgame. That would suck if it was on FS but the Observer didn't have it listed.

edit: Well, the link on the Charlotte Observer Bobcats page for schedule here doesn't list the game being on TV, but apparently it was and it was listed on the NBA link posted in my topic below.

What's weird is both links lead to the NBA website but one lists tickets available and SOME of the games on TV, while the other lists all the games on TV. That sucks, you would think the Observer would update it's links to serve the audience better.

That's one of the things that has bothered me in the NBA 2.0, I know Bonnel has to write about the Cats, and Sorenson writes his fair share of Cat articles, but it seems like the media as a whole has really given the Bobcats minor-league coverage. I understand that the local sports fanbase aren't craving Bobcat stories but it seems like it's the local media's job to cover this team. Local sports talk rarely steers the conversation towards the Cats, and never really did even at the beginning.

That's one of the reasons I don't listen to FNZ anymore even though I used to live for sports talk radio. When they are talking about Clemson and USC football for 3 hours a day and can't even mention the local NBA team, it shows me that my priorities obviously aren't the same as theirs.

It was on FSN (Channel 40 on TWC), but apparently if you are not in the imminent Charlotte area you wouldn't have seen it. I heard from someone who lives in Fort Mill that they do not get it there. Completely retarded.

Yeah, it was my fault for trusting the local paper would have accurate information on the local NBA team and their TV rights. I mean, the Observer guys have so many sports to cover. They can't be expected to know if the local NBA team is going to be on TV.

Cats played pretty well today but ultimately it was another disappointing loss. The game wasn't on TV so I listened to the second quarter till the end on the radio. Quick note, has anyone listened to a game on the radio yet? They only have one broadcaster. That's right, only a play-by-play guy, interjecting his own stats throughout the game.
Admittedly he does a decent job, but it's almost embarressingly cheap not to have a color announcer. Friday's game is the only other I've heard on the radio this year but it was the same way. Last year and previous years they had a full radio crew, including Steve Martin on occasion. Stephanie Ready also did color sometimes. I figured since today's game was radio only they might have a full crew but they didn't.

On to the game, it seemed that the Cats had strong PG play, Augustin in particular made a few nice plays. This led to the Cats taking an 11 pt lead midway through the third. It was all downhill from there, the lack of PF was very apparent. Chris Bosh had close to 20 points alone in the fourth as he helped lead the Raptors back to a double digit win.

Wallace seemed to be in a slump again as the trade talk might be getting to him. His skills are a duplication of Richardson, although Richardson is a superior offensive player to Wallace's superior defense and rebounding. I think if we could trade Wallace for a good PF, that would be a nice trade for this team. Eddy Curry isn't on that list however, and I'll be crushed if that trade goes through.

Last year Muggsy Bogues did color on some of the games but not all of them. Stephanie did a few. Rest of the games Scott Lauer was solo.

A number of teams in the NBA have solo radio broadcasts. Joe Tate in Cleveland, Ted Davis in Milwaukee, Hot Rod Huntley in Utah, Steve Holman in Atlanta are all solo acts...

I was at the game today...my 1st time inside "The Cable Box" lol.

Extremely valid point about there being no low post presence. Okafor is a joke. Walking into the building I was cracking jokes about Sean May with my buddies. By the time I was walking out, I wished we had Sean suited up...I was that disappointed.

Augustin played well, Morrison shoots well/plays no D at all. Richardson and Wallace was cold shooting the rock. Felton still makes stupid mistakes around half court, does a terrible job running the offense as an NBA calibur point guard.

Bosh was a stud as usual...looked to me like Toronto was just messing around for 3 quarters, then they got serious in the 4th. The cats would miss a couple shots and Toronto would go back down and score. It went for a tied game to down 15 pretty quick in the middle 4th period.

The other thing that amazed me is just how much Jermaine O'Neal has fallen off over the past 3 or 4 years.
