if the rays hadn't tied it up there is no way that they delay this game. Officially it was a complete game after 5, but if they called the game there would be such a backlash......I'm glad the rays scored and made it an easy decision to delay this thing......someone could have really gotten hurt on that field.

They had to stop the game. The World Series should not be played in those conditions.

i would much rather it be played in those conditions than them call the game and end it under those conditions.

The game is suspended. It will be picked up where it was stopped. It might be Wednesday though because the forecast for Philly is not good.

Selig just said that no matter the situation that the game would have been in a "rain delay" and would not have ended in the 5th.

That is the right thing to do and I commend him for doing that, if that was the situation.

apparently, according to the ESPN guys it was a rule change that went into effect this year for the playoffs. Thats how i understood it at least....

Though you would think for the playoffs that the Reg season game rules (like that) would not apply.

Philly should have built a stadium with a retractable roof.

Philly gets hosed on this. Hamels was pitching a hell of a game.

I heard this morning that Vegas is paying off as if the Phillies won game 5 because they were leading after 5 and 1/2 innings. Now that's strange!!!
