I have decided to join the gym again. They are running a promotion where there is no joining fee and you only have to commit to a three month membership.

Last time I went it was not accomplishing much. I have lost about 30 pounds on my recent diet but I have more or less stalled out. I am thinking that working out again will help.

Any suggestions? I know I need to do 30 minutes or so on a cardio machine. Do I really need to do weights?

My schedule will not allow me to go in the mornings.

I just play racquetball 2-3 times a week for a couple of hours.

If you keep up a fast pace doing the weights you can accomplish the same thing as with the treadmill/eliptical.

If you're lifting heavy, have some alchohol before hand. It will help you.

I do lighter weights, 2 sets of 25 reps. One exercise for abs, and two other lifts. Mondays -- rows and bench. Wednesdays -- leg press & hamstring curls. Fridays -- biceps and triceps. It goes fast, but it's a nice compliment to the cardio. I'm really digging it.

Working out (and running) makes me hungry and I eat more. The only way I can lose weight is through "starvation," drink lots of water, and no sodium. I bought some dumbells and pulled a muscle, that was the end of that. They sat around and rusted.

So you are doing each muscle group only once per week? I have always been told to do all of them three times per week. For example to bench press 3 times per week and do 3 sets of 10.

Do each group once a week. It takes more than two days to recover unless you are doing steroids.
