I'd guess either Hornets or Knights. Charlotte has a pretty long history with the Hornets name, in both baseball and basketball. But Knights works pretty well too.

You know how Jeep used to have the Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee. Washington has the Wizards and Charlotte could have the Grand Wizards.

I'd like to see how the Knights do uptown before pulling in a MLB team.

Crap, I forgot to ask my buddy how that was coming along.

That's hilarious, and original. In other news, looks like baseball downtown is finally a go.

I think that's great, and really should have happened the year we built the arena.

Nobody "bailed" on the Hornets. They lead the league in attendance for something like 8 straight years. Shinn and the NBA let the city down.

Sixty % of the city voted agaisnt the Bobcats Arena. Charlotte never wanted this sorry NBA team so how are they "bailing" now?

All that being said, Charlotte could never support an MLB team.

Just because fans had reasons to be pissed at the franchise doesn't mean they didn't bail. Our attendance the last couple of years for the Hornets was beyond pathetic. I remember buying an upper deck ticket for $15 and sitting in the fourth row for a Celtics game.

Hell, even our last playoff series the stands were half-empty. I still have the tapes.

Say what you want about the Hornets leaving, Charlotte definitely did the pre-emptive breakup with them. They bailed.

As far as the Bobcats, see below:

Argue semantics all you want, if the Bobcats fail their blood will be on this city so to speak.

    and nobody cares

The NBA is terrible and IMO MLB is out of the question for a long time.
