I have never been much of a baseball fan. I know a lot of people who are though. I might could get into if we had a local team. They play way too many games in baseball though. Individual games are almost meaningless.

Anaheim, Kansas City, & Las Vegas are looking for a team . . . Not sure about San Diego; They have to build a new arena from scratch to even get into the running for a new NBA/NHL team (San Diego Sports Arena is a relic from the 1960's . . . They have few events there now if I heard correctly).

If you want MLB to come to Charlotte, just hope that Jerry Reese gazillion lawsuits against the Knights continue for another 5-10 years . . By then, we should be big enough metro wise (1.8-2.0 million) to support a team

In this town, could you get a Uptown ballpark referendum passed? I'm sure Jerry Reese big dream of bringing MLB to town will require some public money to help get his 3rd Ward revitialization plan off the ground . . I wish the WBT crowd would dive into that detail a little bit more as they discuss this issue   . .

It could be wrong, but I remember it being reported that Don Beaver has the territorial rights to the Charlotte market should a major league franchise come to town, so Reese would have to either pay him off or let him in on the ownership.

I doubt a MLB team does any worse than the Bob Johnson Cats.

I'll trade the Bobcats for a MLB team any day.

what do you think a charlotte MLB team would be called? do you think they would do something to mesh well with the panthers or do you think they might have a name having something to do with NC or Charlotte?

Good question. I would not rule out "Hornets" or something along the lines of the current teams named after cats.

    ugh, I hate baseball

MLB would be a complete failure in this town at the moment, I don't even know why anyone is discussing the possibility.

Worry about losing your SECOND NBA team in a decade, and when that happens, you can bet your ass no MLB owner with a brain would move here.

Of course, that still leaves several MLB owners who would consider a move here.
