    Barack Obama=Bob Johnson

One is about as fit to lead as the other.

Bruton you can rule out. He has absolutely no interest in owning an NBA team. He might talk about it, but that's just to sell tickets to whatever race he's got coming up.

Jordan has the right of first refusal I believe, but given the intrest level he's shown as a minority partner, I'd say it's pretty unlikely he would want to be the main guy.

McColl is a possiblity, and there are other locals with big money. I don't know how hard the economy has affected them though. Plus they aren't exactly jumping through hoops to support the team now.

It's like ground hog day. Who didn't see this coming? The city of Charlotte should have listened to the referendum and never built that arena, but I guess a smart decision is too much to ask from Charlotte leaders.

Trade 'em to Raleigh for the Hurricanes, straight up.

(Raleigh would be insane to do this, though...)

From the city's point of view, it wasn't a bad deal. They got a new arena they needed and got someone to agree to pay to run it and pay off the construction debt if they bail on it.

If the Bobcats bail out, who is responsible for paying off the arena: The Bobcat's or the NBA? I thought the arena deal was made with the NBA originally and then given to the 'Cats when they joined the league. I thought the league agreed to keep a team in Charlotte for the next 25 years in exchange for the new arena. Am I wrong?

If I remember correctly, the Bobcats have to pay a huge penalty if they leave town.

Isn't San Diego looking for a team?

Been to one game since they been here. Good crowd because they were playing the Celtics last year. Only reason people went to the game was to see the other team. Bad ownership and getting the wrong players from the draft and FA. Basketball was gone when the Hornets left and should have never came back.

Would have been better off to bring a MLB team to Charlotte. Lots of pro's and con's with that but it's worth a try.

never got why NBA/MLB was an either/or, but I don't think MLB would be supported. Acquring a MLB team essentially solidifies Charlotte as a stop on the way for pro franchises.
