    Great win by the Heels

Maybe is just me but did it not seem like at the end that the refs try to give ND the game?.I still don't get how did the Ref called that catch by Brooks Foster not a catch

the last play could be grounds for protest. The call on the field was down by contact (the ref spotted the ball).....the clock should have stopped with 5 seconds left (the clock kept running). then the ball was snapped and spiked (4 sec. left) after that, the play was reviewed.....(a play can't be reviewed after the next play has started). Oh, and if the ruling on the field is that he is down by contact, it's not reviewable to say it was a fumble.

with that said, it was a fumble and they got it right in the end......but it was completely botched and charlie wies does have an argument if he protests.

im all for the heels getting the win, but the call on the review of foster's play was correct. i thought in real time that it was a catch, but it was obvious on the replays that he didnt maintain control as he hit the ground. in order for it to be a catch, the receiver has to maintain possesion through hitting the ground if he is going down as he makes the catch

But he took a step, knee down, THEN his elbow hit the ground.

What does a guy have to do to catch a football these days?

That's the key point that I kept screaming at my TV. Once Foster's knee hit with him still in possession of the football, that was a catch. It's clear and indisputable. The NFL requires the receiver to commit a "football act" (whatever that is) while maintaining possession of the catch, but college does not. And yes, I too worried that the refs were trying to give the game to Notre Dame

this is my biggest beef with the review system. at first, i though i would love it. but now, it has morphed into a very questionable hodge-podge of "lawyer speak" and terms like collin mentioned above. they could spin their decision in whatever terms they "create" (or seem to be creating) these days.....NFL and NCAA.

when is a catch not a catch?

after a friggin' room full of stiff necks debate a seemingly simple set of guidelines for 51/2 minutes, to the inth degree, then enter THEIR fucked up conclusion.

i was so pissed i dont know what i woulda broke if those dickheads woulda cost us the game.

the game shoulda been over when brooks hauled in that pass on third down. it was over. game over.

fuck the last paly of the game. it never should have gotten to that point anyway.
