    Bootay, you are right from what I am hearing. This is just Citi's last second attempt with a favorable judge to stop Wells/Wachovia from merging but in the end, it will go through.

    That's why I asked. The govt has done a couple of things no one thought it would do before this crises came about. Just asking....

    that is the worst of all scenarios. Massive job cuts in Charlotte, stock price would suck, huge losses for tax payers because Citi's deal sucks, huge losses for both banks with complex integration costs.

    Wells Fargo is a natural fit with Wachovia, and they are offering the best deal. As usual, tell the fucking government to get out of the way and tell Citi to fuck off, and let's get this thing done. Ugh.
