Harden is phenominal on the road and Lilly is just plain solid. The cubs have a much better offense than the dodgers or the phillies. When it comes to starting pitching the cubs are better than the phils or the dodgers. I'm just looking at season long stats and the cubs rank higher than both teams in both categories. bullpen wise, the dodgers have the advantage.

Not questioning the loyalty. Just the unique cheering: sitting on hands. They copied that from the Braves fans. Do you want to borrow the tomahawk chop, too? It might help

Basically, if Big Z shows up tonight and the cubs win you have a 3 game series and the winner moves on. The cubs will run out Harden, Lilly, and Dempster again....maybe Zambrano if he feels good enough to go. I am a little biased, butI don't dislike the dodgers....i think the cubs will take it in 4 games if they win tonight. I think if they lose tonight then the dodgers have a 90% chance of taking the series.......

i despise the braves....but the tomahawk chop was a pretty damn good cheer.....by the way, i think that our drought is a tad bit worse than atlanta's.....the cubs just went to the postseason in back to back years for the first time since 1907 & 1908....in which they won back to back world championships.

"much better offense" wouldn't agree with that. better from top to bottom? yes. much better? no way. Dodgers have proved otherwise with the addtion of Blake, Manny and a 7-2 (2 run home run thanks to the wind) beat down last night.

Dempster led the team in walks, so it wasn't really that big a surprise. The shocking thing is that he did so well during the regular season, because he's not that good.

    Franchise:
Huh? The Cubs have a great bullpen, and their lineup is much better than LA's even with Manny. That doesn't mean that the Dodgers can't get hot and win a five game series, but on paper Chicago is far superior.

this is very true....dempster was a huge surprise to me and many other cubs fans this season. I don't think that the cubs will try to re-sign him after this season.....I've heard he may be going to the Braves, but after a contract year like this he will command a lot more money than I think the braves want to spend for an aging starter. I think that the cubs will look to some big time prospects to step in as a 4th or 5th starter, depending on what happens with marquis.

I know of a legitmate starter on the FA list next year. I wonder who blinks with their money. The one thing about CC is he prefers playing in the National League because he loves the opportunity to bat.

7-2 is not a beat down when you can attribute the majority of the runs to walks. the cubs beat themselves last night. cubs are most definitely the best team in the NL on paper....but thats on paper....the playoffs is all about who gets hot at the right time.....case in point 2007 Colorado Rockies sweeping everyone into the world series.....

CC will be a yankee.....he may prefer to bat, but is it worth 10 million?
