    I had it.

    It sucked.

But it works. Before the surgery on Thursday, I had 20/400 vision (almost legally blind, I think). The next day at my first check-up, I had 20/40. I've got a haziness from my medicated drops and from the trauma of the procedure, but the docs say that will clear up soon. They also say my eyesight will improve more as my eyes heal. 20/20 is an almost certainty, and 20/10 is very likely.

Wow....I saw on Facebook you had it done. Glad it worked for you. My brother had it when they first started doing it. He had to do it for his job.

I had it done YEARS ago, somewhere around 2002. It's been GREAT, and the technology is significantly improved now with pure laser operations.

I went from not being able to read the top of the eye chart (the HUGE E) to reading the fine print with the copyrights... I could see individual leaves on trees while driving down the highway for the first time. It fades a little over time, your eyes naturally age and vision deteriorates (especially if you sit in front a screen as much as I do), but I'm still probably 20/30 or so after being 20/15 after the surgery...

I HIGHLY recommend it. ZERO downsides for me (dry eyes, seeing big stars with oncoming headlights, etc.).

My mother(rip) had Lasik done in both eyes in 2004 [Ages ago]. One eye came out OK, the other eye was hampered by a preexisting tear duct condition, didn't improve the vision because of watering.
Lasik doesn't perform peripheral miracles, and it doesn't stop the eyeball from changing shape as you get older, of course. Just saying, at $8,000(2004) a crack you kinda hope for miracles.

I had both eyes done, and it cost me just over $3000.

Did your insurance cover any of it?? I want to get it done although I recall one of my eye doctors telling me I wouldn't be a good candidate because my eyes weren't bad enough. WTF??
