If they waived the capital gains tax on all profits made from people buying the MBS's you would have individuals buy them instead of the govt.

Pretty ignorant comment. You want to let healthy companies go under for no reason whatsoever?

If you want respect Holly, earn it.

I think I understand where she's coming from, but really this is a double edged sword. We could end up cutting our throats no matter which way we go with this.

Oh please. But you want people who had nothing to do with this to have to pay for it? Homeowners lost their homes. What will these corporate CEO's lose?

This crisis is not about homeowners anymore. It's about all credit drying up for everybody.

We are going to pay for it with money that we make from being employed or we are going to lose our jobs. I would rather pay with money if it will work.

Look, you real world illiterate, I can't help it if you are clueless about working capital.

But what we are talking about is far bigger than just mortgages.

Your naivette explains how you can be an Obama fan.

Bailout MUST happen. If it doesn't we are all fucked IMO. FDIC is going to go broke and have to get money eventually. If banks continue to go bust, unemployment is going to skyrocket. This is going to hurt the housing sector even more...next thing you know, the whole country is going to look like Detroit.

    Holly wouldn't understand.

I never said I understand how all of these schemes work. But they don't seem to mind that when they take my money I worked for, to bail these companies out.
