    Being new to the gardening scene, what with the first house and all, when should I till up the garden area in prep for next year?

    I did a small kitchen garden near the house this year, but you can tell where the previous owner had about a 45' x 45' plot laid out. Hasn't been touched in at least three years. Lots of clovers need to go.

    My cantaloupe sucked, were about as tasteless as store-bought. Another gardener confirmed that hers sucked too. WTF!? I thought it was a given that stuff home garden grown would have the proper flavor. I used MiracleGro soil and fertilized properly.
    My tomatoes tasted very good, albeit a low yield. Wonder why the cantaloupes didn't pan out? Anybody had good luck raising these beasts? They're a lot of trouble to grow, especially when they don't turn out good.
