Greg Little's fumble was also a killer, and I didn't like how Schoop refused to call pass plays early in the game.

The running game gave them 10 pts. That 50 yard run IMPROVED Littles YPC to like 3.1. That's just poor.

UNC has no ability to substantiate a rushing attack vs. a viable defense. they had the one long run when Little scored but thats about it.

mistakes cost them this game, along with the fact that Yates went down, but they had a 14 point lead at that time.

Quan Sturdivant and his idiotic personal foul, after stopping them on 3rd down, resulted in a VT touchdown to close to within 7.

Little coughed the ball up on the next possession and you could feel the bad karma from your living room chair. game over.

Butch Davis and the Tar Heels have a helluva long way to go if they want to contend for a conference title. VT was ready for the taking. all Carolina had to do was finish strong. but as we have all become accustomed to over the past 10 years, they fell on their collective asses.

    same old heels

It was a three point loss, not thirty, and the Sturdivant personal foul call was total bullshit. Find out what you're talking about before you speak.

It matters when you're insulting Sturdivant for it and it wasn't his fault.

that was a fucking frustrating game to watch as a Heels fan.

They lost it as much in the first half as they did in the fourth quarter. The D played great and they forced turnovers but never could turn them into points.

The penalties were rediculous - some questionable but wtf - they were happening all game long.

Losing Yates hurts but what the hell happened to the defense? They went from playing lights out great to looking totally inept. This loss really hurts. They win today and they are in the drivers seat for an ACC title game. Now they have to pray Tech loses twice in the ACC which doesn't look likely even though the Tech offense was looking pretty weak most of the day.

    fuck

Thats fucking bullshit and you know it. There was a scrum of people and Tyrod Taylor fucking grabbed his FACE MASK in front of the ref. All Sturdivant did was push him back.

Later in that drive was the phantom "defensive holding" call which resulted in a 1st and goal.

I know it sounds weak to blame the refs but don't put this on Quan Sturdivant.

The play you could have cited was Elzys late hit on the kick return. You would be ABSOLUTELY right if you cited that as an indicator of losing composure/not being able to seal the deal. That play pissed me off.

The shitstorm that was building got in the D's head. They started playing tight, and the Running Backs giving VT a short field didn't help.

And I think we've established our feelings about VT's first TD drive and the factors that led to it.

Bottom line, they let the situation get in their heads and they started playing soft. Its hard to put a guy on the ground when you're worried about what horse shit call is gonna come from the zebras next. A more experienced team would have handled that better.
