"I've never been part of a team where a quarterback was benched that early on," Delhomme said. "But it can be a spark to a team." (on the benching of T. Jackson)

I guess he forgot about that first game in 2003 where he replaced Peete at halftime against the Jaguars.

H elikely meant a QB of the future, not a QB of a decade gone by in Peete, but yeah, he whiffed a little on that.

Delhomme should have started that game back in 2003. That is a good example of Fox sticking with his guy for too long. Delhomme out played Pete in the preseason and had much more upside.

The players had enough respect for Peete to name him as one of their captains.

Personally, I thought Fox pulled the trigger pretty quickly for it to be the first game of the season, regardless of a Peete's lackluster preseason. Glad he did, too.

Well, I was at that game and Peete was doing terrible and the O overall sucked. By halftime, the croud was generally one big ass boobird for the O and Peete. I don't think I've been to another Panther game where the croud cheered so much and loudly for a player stepping onto the field when Jake did, other than pregame introductions.

It was about the biggest difference in two halves as far as the croud and the team as I believe I have personally witnessed.

I agree with you, and so does Jack Del Rio.
