What do Islamic Fund invest in? Sounds like investing in Catholic Funds or Jewish Funds. Weird.

You can say, relatively certain, that Islamic Funds has no connection to extremist? China hasn't been our friend for many, many years. Investing isn't just about money.

Can you say that a terrorist investing in Citigroup or BofA can't take the profits and source it to terror? What's the difference? Just because it's an islamic fund doesn't equal terror money just as investing in Citigroup doesn't mean the money isn't going to perhaps support terror.

It's more what they DON'T invest in that makes them unique.

You can't. It's just the first step in the "if it looks like a duck,...." theory, a selection process. It may be totally off base, but I tend to be very conservative with money. Why take that particular risk?

I looked at some of these yesterday. Very strict and the no interest thing was unique. Most seemed to be based long term only. One I saw required a min invest of $500,000. :yikes:

If you are very very conservative then stick with a savings account. I just can't differentiate between money made from a US company and money made from an islamic fund. Those islamic funds also invest in US companies as long as those companies are halal. Money is money doesn't matter where it comes from when financing terror. Basically what you are doing is stereotyping Islamic funds based on terrorist. That's your perogative though.

They can't all require that much to invest. Yes, the no interest thing is very unique to islamic investing and also the main reason there are no financials (mainly banks) in islamic funds. They have ways of getting around that though. Most normal mutual funds have a small portion that keeps cash that pays interest. Not sure how the islamic funds get around that.
