Maybe Smith won't talk to him becuase he's a clueless redneck "reporter" from the Rock Hill Herald.

He complains that Smith hasn't talked to anyone without a vested interest and yet the only reason he's upset is becuase he's being overlooked for the scoop. He's pissed becuase he's not good enough to command player's respect.

 

Nah, Steve is being a dick, but you can't cry on your blog about it.

 

Steve is a dick and Gantt is just pissed he can't cash in on the story.

 

Gantt wants respect, both of the fans and the players.

I don't know about Gannt, but most of the Charlotte reporters hated/hate Moose as well. I met Moose and he was nothing but open and generous with his time to both myself (posed for photos and autographed the Save the Moose poster I made) and spent a great deal of time with a group of kids who had come to practice. The kids approached him at the same time he walked over to me ( he came to me, not me calling him over) and he sort of looked at me and then them and I told him to do the kids' autographs and stuff first I could wait. He did so taking his time and then thanked me for waiting.

I mentioned the experience to a reporter who was blasting Moose during the "will he stay or leave" period and the response seemed to imply the reporter was a bit surprised someone could have a positive experience with Moose. Yet Moose has generally been willing to speak to press at least in the lockerroom after games.

Press seems to expect free access to all celebrities/sports figures and if they don't get all the dirt, they get pissy. iss:
