which is why he's gotten younger the last two years and changed a number of philosophies - because of aimlessness? I disagree.

Agree about the QB thing and the play thing above both sounding like excuses this year. He shouldn't be throwing out excuses.

I think he has a clear vision, but lying to fans is getting old.

That's bullshit. There was nothing remarkable about last year. Had we been a competitive 7-9, that would have been something, but we were probably the worst 7-9 team in NFL history. The way we got our asses kicked in those losses was staggering, and it had much more to do with quarterback problems. I'd have a lot more respect for Fox had he simply said "well, last year was rough and we all need to do better", but instead he's selling it as some kind of triumph.

that was one of my problems with the 7-9 issue. We had a lot of blowout, giveup losses that we've never really had under him. I can't explain them, but they were there. Another one and he could've been gone. There's no honor in being blown out that many times. His point should've been, and maybe was intended to be, that we were able to keep playing and bounced back.

Those teams weren't tough, and I think this team has that toughness. It has the ability to run and stop the run, which is where we started. It also has some playmaking, which we didn't have right off. The only

I have never been a member of the "Fire Fox!" crowd, but I have to admit that the excuses I've seen him spout the last two years have me leaning in that direction more than I ever have. I can forgive bad results a lot more easily than I can poor management.

I don't think he was making excuses, but I do think he was over-selling 2007, a tad.

Jacksonville and Green Bay torched us, primarily b/c our quarterback could not generate first downs, and the defense keyed in on the running game.

What surprises me (or maybe it shouldn't) is lack of D-Line pressure is nowhere on his radar in this piece. BandB is right--there was more to the story, and a big piece of it was the staggering low production from the D-Line.

The D-line lost their passion because Carr was on the roster. I think that's pretty obvious.

We completely botched the 2007 offseason. That's why we sucked. Fortunately we did a much better job this year and should have a much better team.

Or that the team had shitty blocking, no pass rush, poor tackling, and a special teams coach who makes tony look like Albert Einstein?

Carr has actually looked solid in NY. I wonder if that's just a fluke or not.
