    Year after that.

Then he needs to tell management to start thinking about dumping Leinart. If the coach has little to no faith in a player then he needs to go. Would Belichick hang on to a player he thinks won't help him win?

Players are people too, they may decide the coaches aren't giving Leinart a fair shot for whatever reason, and then you have a problem.

It's been pretty clear since the first game (from listening to the broadcast crews at least) that Warner was playing better and would most likely get the start.

I don't know if it was ESPN or NFLN this morning but one was talking about how noticably weak Leinart's arm was last night and all camp.

You don't think the other players would rather win?

I think they would (except the ones that lack PASSION) but I think it's easier to get people all on the same page if you don't spend all offseason hyping Leinart just to pull the plug on him. Players have loyalties but if you tell them from the beginning Warner is guy then they'll start to go to him more, doing the flip flop thing leaves no one happy as some people will always think their guy would have done it better or not made this mistake or that mistake.

Actually in that first game the ESPN crew kept talking about how good Leinart looked and that it probably meant that there would be no QB competition.

Damn Jaguars, but they did dump Byron right after the switch; or are you referring to ASU?

ASU. That's the worst fuck-up of a QB competition that I've ever heard of.

I just remember one of their games where whatever was said made believe Warner would win the job.
