I think Australia gives us our toughest game. When asked how to beat the United States, Andrew Bogut says "Shoot 100%"

Isn't London only 5 hours ahead of us? I'd be shocked if Chicago got the Olympics. It's between Madrid, Rio DJ, Tokyo, and Chicago isn't it? They should have it in Rio since there's never been an Olympics in South America, or have it in Tokyo. If they have it in Rio it works out great for us since they are only 2 hours ahead of us I believe.

I dont see why Chicago couldn't get it. They have a good start on the number of venues in the Chicagoland area that are already built. The venues that would have to be built would be the Olympic Stadium, an addition near Monroe Harbour for the rowing events, beach volleyball area near Navy Pier, a tennis center & whitewater course in the Lincoln Park area, a cycling venue at Northerly Island, the International Broadcast Center, and the Olympic Village.

According the official website of the Chicago 2016 bid ( http://www.chicago2016.org ) here is the venues, both current and proposed, to hold the events.

Opening, Closing Ceremonies, Track & Field: Proposed Olympic Stadium in the Washington Park area

Volleyball, Weightlifting, Handball, Wrestling, Judo, Fencing, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Modern Pentathlon (Fencing and Shooting), Rhythmic Gymnastics and Badminton: McCormick Place Convention Center Complex (Second largest convention center in the world)

Beach Volleyball, BMX, Track Cycling: Proposed Olympic Sports Complex at Northerly Island

Tennis, Whitewater events: Proposed Tennis Center and Whitewater Course at Lincoln Park

Rowing, Flatwater Kayak, Canoeing: Proposed Lakefront Rowing Course near Monroe Harbour/Grant Park

    Boxing: UIC Pavillion

    Basketball Finals, Gymnastics: United Center

Basketball Preliminaries: Chicago State University Convocation Center, Allstate Arena (Aka The Rosemont Horizon)

Soccer Preliminaries: Soldier Field (Venue for Finals), Ryan Field at Northwestern University, Huskie Stadium at Northern Illinois University, New TCF Stadium at The University of Minnesota

Also, if baseball and softball can be put back onto the Olympic Programme for 2016, everyone will know U.S. Cellular Field and Wrigley Field would used. Golf has ben mentioned, it could be played at Olympia Fields and Medinah Country Clubs. Also, Rugby has been mentioned too, and it could be held at Toyota Park (home of the Chicago Fire of the MLS)

ITs a very cultural and very diverse city, I think they have a chance.

It'd be cool if Chicago got it and they reinstated baseball and got to play at Wrigley

All of the hard work up to now means nothing...Its time to put up or shut up, and the winners will be rewarded while the losers will endure four (more) years of how to regroup for the next Olympic Games. Here's the matchups for the Bronze & Gold medal games.

    China 81
    Russia 94

    Men's Bronze Medal Game

    United States 92

    Men's Gold Medal Game
