I saw an interview with him. He said he wrote what he knew and that he could get higher than most and still write coherently

My buddy gave me the dvd, I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I figured Seth Rogan was the everyman, strange that Collin had such a visceral reaction against him. I have to say it's the first time I've seen him really garner hate.

I'm tired of seeing him in movie ads every five seconds. How many movies is the guy in? I feel similarly about Christian Bale, and Bale is actually someone who can act. Haven't seen Superbad, but I did catch Knocked Up on HBO and it was a giant waste of time without a single laugh. Ditto for 40 Year Old Virgin, compounded by the supremely annoying Steve Carell.

Seth Rogen is an unfunny, overexposed flash in the pan just like Dane Cook a couple of years ago. Hopefully Rogen will fade into oblivion just as quickly.

Wow you've never been more wrong, actually. I can't believe you honestly compared Seth Rogan to fucking Dane Cook.

Undeclared is better than anything Dane Cook's even watched.

Anyway, I heard this movie is pretty subpar so I'll just check it on cable.

edit: In retrospect I shouldn't be surprised that a humorless fuck like you hates him, though.

Maybe he's funny in Undeclared, I have no idea. I know he was not funny in Knocked Up or 40 Year Old Virgin. Watch Knocked Up and then tell me if you still disagree. Seriously, it's not like I was expecting Airplane or something. I was hoping for some chuckles, but instead I kept asking myself why anyone thought that movie was worth a damn. It was beyond stupid. The only people who would find that humorous are empty-headed morons, the same ones who used to insist that Dane Cook was Comedy Jesus.

Always Sunny in Philadelphia = funny
    Seth Rogen = not funny

I thought he was funny in 40 Year Old Virgin, the scene where he and his roommate go back and forth about how they know the other is gay is pretty good stuff. I wasn't a huge fan of that movie though so perhaps I'm not the one to be giving Seth props.

You should watch Undeclared and take Seth off the 'Dane Cook comparison list.'

I didn't see Knocked Up, and the only reason I would see it is to see Katherine Heigl.

I think the Dane Cook comparison is fair. I had people calling me "a humorless fuck" for saying similar things about him back then. A lot of people are just susceptible to societal suggestion. If they believe that they're supposed to find something funny, then they generally will, and they won't even be aware of why. Wedding Crashers - not funny. 40 Year Old Virgin - not funny. Anchorman - some funny moments but not nearly the hilarious flick it's made out to be. It's the same reason that plebeians in the mid-'90s declared Titanic to be cinematic genius when it was anything but. Then if people watch the same movie five years later when the hype is gone, suddenly they can't understand why they found it funny in the first place.

To be honest, I can't even remember the last Hollywood movie that actually was hilarious. They just suck at comedy, maybe because it's such a convoluted process with the writer rarely being able to retain control of his vision.
