I love Jerry Garcia and Stevie Ray Vaughn but I' have to go with Hendrix. He was such an innovator. I'd love to see where he'd have taken his music if he had survived.
I'm a little surprise tha no one mentioned Janis Joplin.

Van the Man aint dead yet.

Into the Mystic and Brown Eyed Girl are some of my favorite songs.

Bonham is one id like back. Maybe the Zep would still be going like the Stones.

But i have to admit, im also a big fan of Buddy Holly.

Id like to say Layne Staley from AiC but they really didnt do much once the grunge scene ended. Makes me wonder if Cobain would still be churning out the hits?

I think Lennon would still be making hits to this day.

The Bass Thing from The Wonder Stuff. They just have never been the same without him.

If Mama Cass and Karen Carpenter had split a sandwich, they'd both be alive today.

    Elvis and Ronnie Van Zant...
Elvis was the king, and always will be. He had so much influence on true rock and roll.
Ronnie was just plain "kick ass". His brothers are doing him well, and the resemblance is spooky. Saw Skynyrd a few months ago in Charlotte and it was almost like going back in time..Kick ass show..
A lot of good choices here, but that's mine. The thread said 1, but I want 2..
