...I've got a 2002 Toyota Tundra truck. Cool truck but the braking SUCKS!
Front rotors have warped for the 3rd time. I've read about TSBs, "service bulletins", from Toyota of the defect, but the manufacturers warranty has run its course. .....so?
    1. Sell it?
    2. Fix the rotors angain with the same parts?
    3. Upgrade the parts?

    $300-$400 for simple rotor replacement.
$2000 for the new brake assembly with upgraded parts.

    Thanks.

I've got a 2000 Tacoma with 160,000 miles. I was just wondering if I should get them checked becuase it's been 5 years since the pads were replaced but they seem to be fine.

    I'm asking for folks...

...that have actually upgraded to the new brake devices now available. Thats how upgrading works Christy. New technology allows for upgrades to replace the defective product. Try soap instead of water Christy, thats an upgrade from water.

This really isn't that hard to figure out. Either you aren't willing to have the brakes fixed again-sell it. You don't want to pay to fix the brakes just to end up fixing them again later- sell it. If you really want to keep the truck buy the new improved brakes.

PS Chris is right, absent a full blown autos forum, this really is more a rant and rave topic.

You should drink some. I've heard dish detergent is good stuff.
