Tracey, I'm going to explain some manhood rules to you, since your dad didn't give you any idea about them. If Smith stared him in the eye for five seconds, gave him a warning he was about to swing even, this changes everything. Locking up after a play in the heat of the moment with both helmets still on, that's alright too. Sucker punching a teammate is on the same level as putting your hands on a woman.

I don't want to hear about ghetto shithead's "momentary lapse of reason". I didn't realize there were two other incidents, I thought there was just one. Trust me, if he was a guy struggling to make the team or the league, this momentary lapse probably wouldn't happen.

    We're talkin' bout practice :satana:

But it ain't okay. I was worried Lucas was fucked up worse than he is, that's about ten percent of our line-up between the two of them.

Meh, lighting looks like it could be different along with the camera angle.

That has got to be one of the dumbest internet rumors I've ever seen.

Maybe Lucas is going the route of Michael Jackson and wanting to be white. Next stop skin bleaching.

2 game suspension cost Smith a nice chunk of money. Maybe this is what he needs. I am not worried about any of his on the field altercations (Deangelo or the Texan game as it was in the heat of battle. What Smith needs to know as he has a huge target on him because EVERYONE knows he has a temper and can be fucked with until he blows and takes himself out of the game. I don't think he is anywhere near the problem that Chad Johnson or TO are, they are me players. Smith wants to compete. From the article I posted and highlighted, he needs to be told it isn't his role to set a hierarchy. I blame the coaches for that. Smith needs to be on some Lexapro, pronto.

I was really upset with the Bright incident. I don't care what someone SAYS, there's no reason to beat them senseless. I had a hard time cheering for Smith for a long time after that. I also perceived the kcking the player incident differently. To me it looked like the opposing player fell and was rolling and had to complete the roll in order to get off Smitty and then up. I saw no evidence of grabbing or twisting Smitty's leg. To me it was another needless thug act on Smitty's part. But since that period I really thought he had changed.

Watch games from the early Smith years. It was all about Steve -he rarely congratulated teammates and often walked away as they approached him to congratulate him. It was play for the crowd to cheer 89. But then he seemed to realize that football was indeed a TEAM sport. You could get glory, but if the rest of the guys weren't getting praise, you as a TEAM weren't going far. He started running to others to congratulate them and seeking them out to celebrate. And believe me, I've watched him closely since the Bright incident. I was finally comfortable cheering for him and delighted to see he seemed to be a team player and an adult. I think the time for digging for reasons to defend him is gone.

There seems to have been some bad blood or excessive competitiveness between Smith and Lucas from the start. I think they do a lot of heated jawing every year and there's been at least two times I can remember camp attendees saying teammates have stepped between them.

Fire may be good for rough sports, but it's wasted when they have NO CLUE who the true opponent is. Smitty should realize if he's making Lucas "cheat a bit", that's good for the team because a grat player can elevate his teammates by forcing them to their best and beyond. And all this holding push off crap goes on in every game and every practice. Lucas wasn't suddenly the first defensive player to grab a receiver.

I gag to type this, but I'd rather Smitty pull a TO and verbally throw Lucas under the bus then literally. :pukey:
