The San Francisco Prophecy: Coming Soon or something to ignore ? ?

Something that makes you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, in light of this weeks earthquake in SoCal . . . . Is something bigger getting ready to hit the Bay Area ? ? ? ?

SAN FRANCISCO PROPHECY: JUNE 14, 2008

It makes you think if the BIG ONE is getting ready to hit the San Francisco area? The way I'm reading it, it sounds like its modern time vs. end time prophecy, since it mentions that LA doesn't get hit as hard as the Bay Area does.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Something this deep, would it be wise to just blow this prophecy off and say 'Oh, whatever . . ' and just chuck it up as just concidence O-R as God giving everybody a heads up that judgement is about to come down and you have a very, very short period of time to get right with him or else?

 

Earthquakes in California? Who could have guessed that! The rest is all assumption.

I've read somewhere awhile ago that back in 1906 during the Asuza Street Revival in LA that someone had received a prophecy about a massive earthquake hitting SF the next day. I've heard of folks having similar prophecy about 9-11 . . . .

I know many prophecies like this are easy to blow off (going back further, I've read about folks having prophecies about WWI & WWII), but at some point if God is being nice enough to give some people a heads up about what's coming down the line, why do we keep sitting on them or just blow it off or refuse to investigate it further?

I'm not sure what office this lady is in (could be a pastor/evangelist/apostle or just a lay person), but she felt strong enough about what she saw that she figured it was good idea to write it down and share it with the world (assuming that God told her to share it). Yessssssssss, you have to be really careful in revealing things like this and make sure you have the green light to reveal it and you report it correctly (i.e. Pat Robertsons crazy prophecies he has been known to reveal on the 700 CLUB . . . 'Bozo will be president in 2008 . . . Bill Gates is the anti-Christ!!!!'.).

here's the thing, there are always people making all sorts of predictions. some of them will be sorta right and they'll get attention after the fact. most will be wrong and they'll be forgotten.

stories about people making predictions before major events are generally just urban legends.

 

generally speaking, you're right, but the prediction in 1906 (?) during the Azuza St. revival was published in the LA Times a day or 2 before the biq quake in SF.

The so-called Big One is not some bogeyman story; it is scientific fact. This is just some idiotic scare-o-ganda piggybacking off knowledge of a legitimate future event.

Seriously, anybody who would someday like for people to start coming back to the church is going to have to let go of this intelligence-insulting doomsday crap. It was bullshit when the evangelists blamed the "idolaters" for Hurricane Katrina, and nobody fell for it.

And what about all the tornadoes that tore up the upper Midwest a few months back? What about the broken levies and flooded homes? Was that "God's punishment" for something less evil than sexual liberty and having the "wrong" beliefs? Like gossiping or covetousness?

Crap like this makes me not regret leaving that world behind forever.
