furney's ass is on the line this season, you think they suspend their best offensive and arguably best overall player for any significant amount of time?

it was mentioned somewhere that the D wanted to retaliate, or someone mentioned speculation of such.

They could have already had they wanted. This was right in the middle of a bunch of defensive players. Beason was dragging Smitty back.

Suspending him from preseason games is something he'd welcome, and they won't suspend him for anything during the regular season. It has to be something more substantial than a fine, though. Mandatory anger management counseling is obvious, but they probably already had him doing that.

It's interesting the people he saught out, Moose then Kasay then the chaplain. Don't really know anyhting about Smitty's personal faith, but I've lost my cool and felt like an ass before. I'm not excusing what he's done, but I've been there too. To me it seems like he was immediately remorseful. Not that that excludes him from consequences, but makes me worry a little less about it.

Reading the ESPN story is pretty grim, Smitty being counciled by John Kasay, and John Fox reminding the team that 'there is no retaliation against Smith to be had.'

Wonder who on the defense wants to kick his ass? They also say that although people reacted quickly, it 'took Jon Beason to get Smith off of Lucas.'

    This is bad.

They should make Smith sit still while Lucas bukkake's on his face.

I guess the world is going to end like it did after westbrook beat the fuck out of Stephen davis. Let's blow this way out of proportion
