...true story, DD got a blackberry, we were told that her existing cell plan would be the EXACT same, i.e. free incoming, plus a $30/month charge for the use of all the gigs provided by this device. Done deal, we thought. New phone comes in, Cell phone company reps have no idea of any plan changes upgrades etc. Beleive me on this one, I made damn sure that the free incoming was to be a MAJOR part of my DDs plan, and mama and I, switched to a new share plan....all of my phones were locked into the 2 yr agreement...no problem there,...but BAM!, when it came time to activate the phone/phones......these duds tried to pull one over on the fishman! When I pushed for a supervisor, gave my confirmation #, ...they back peddled. Whats up?

college kids use them for internet access...

......so I agreed to the cost and what I was told was the plan.

no BS, they flip flopped all over the place.

and, I got a call from a service "rep", uhhhh, salesman, that I've got 35 phones under my business account that qualify for a free upgrade.......

....what?, I'm a home builder with 4 phones period. 1 for me, 1 for my wife, and one each for my two children.

    The scammers are lurking!

You know you don't have to fill in the title section.

If people are calling offering you free upgrades from accounts that aren't yours then yes its a scam.

I still don't see why you would need a blackberry for college.

Scamming/lying is even in charity work these days. I get calls thanking me for my past contributions, etc, when I haven't contributed.
