    Ice Cream Recipes

These are from memory, and are for one of the newer ice cream makers, which make about 1.8 quarts. I have a Cuisinart from Lowes that I got for Christmas.

    Chocolate Ice Cream:
8 oz. chocolate chips, semi sweet
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tbs vanilla extract
    1 cup milk (whole)
    16 oz. cream

Freeze chocolate chips so that they chop better in the blender, combine with sugar, and blend.
Heat the milk in microwave, add to blender, blend. This liquifies the sugar and chocolate.
Place mixture in fridge to chill. I put in the freezer for about 30 minutes. I also put in the cream to chill it too.
Combine the cream and chocolate mixture, then dump it in the ice cream maker and crank it up. After about 25 minutes, you have ice cream. Place in freezer to harden.

I sometimes substitute half-n-half because cream is expensive. I didn't have great success with just regular milk. You can add extras when the ice cream is about done:. Brownies, M&Ms, chocolate chips, nuts, etc.

    Strawberry Ice Cream:
1 pint of freezer jam (mostly thawed)
    1 pint of cream
1/2 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries sliced

Combine jam and cream in the blender, chill, place in the maker. Add sliced strawberries later.

My sister makes the freezer jam, I don't have the recipe for that.

    Banana Ice cream:
5 or 6 ripe bananas, frozen overnight in the skin, then thawed
1 banana, kind of green, sliced into disks
    1/2 cup of sugar
    1 tbs of vanilla extract
    1 pint of cream

Put ripe bananas (peeled), sugar, vanilla extract, and cream into blender, then chill. Put into ice cream maker. Add the disks when the ice cream is almost finished. Place in freezer to harden.

I am looking for a good sherbert recipe, I want to mix some lime sherbert with 151 for nice hot day.

    Good luck,
    N1r0l

Ice cream should ONLY be made with half and half, heavy whipping cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla and a sprinkle of salt.
That's it PURE and SIMPLE and the best.

My step-dad used to make snow ice cream when I was a kid. That was some good stuff right there.
