Yeah, point being anyone switching to DSL is likely losing a LOT of speed. Especially for online gaming. FiOS can't come to Charlotte soon enough imo.

That sucks, you might have an old modem. You should be getting at least 5-6 megs now. I get about 9-10.

T/W has been replacing some modems lately; not mine. A buddy who is on Lite, same as me, said his new modem increased his speed dramatically.

Do it yourself if you want. Take it to a service center and they will give you a new one.

You think they'll swap eventhough I'm not on the list? Only thing is, T/W is twenty miles away in bitching traffic. Damn, why not, it's worth a shot.:usa:

I am getting around 7meg using Turbo. The modem is around a year old. I may swap it out to see if I get anymore out of a new one. Question for you (sorry Bootay :online2long: ) how would someone see on average how much they download in a month. I have heard that somewhere in the router settings (I have a Linksys) would give it to you. Is there any software that I can load that would give me an idea of how much I am getting a month from then on?

Suddenlink is officially throttling too. The last couple of weeks I've noticed that my connection will drop down into kilobytes per second for prolonged periods if I'm running high loads. It's even started happening now when I play X-box Live, which is totally unacceptable.

Pretty much the only time I get a consistently good connection on XBox live is after 11 at night.
