I'm guessing 10%-15% if it were treated like a normal home game at Halton. The students get about half of the seats off the bat. Let's say the season ticket holders have another 20% locked down. That leaves about 30% to split between general admission and UNC.

Like most people in the local media, you have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to the Niners. Haven't you covered some of our games? You still have absolutely no clue how badly the Niner fans would love to attend this game. Our fans want to beat the Heels 2,000 times more than they want to beat anyone else. I'm a Niner fan and even I get sick of hearing our fans complain about the Tarheels. Sometimes I wonder if it's one of the things that holds us back. Seriously, we don't even play them and our fans worry about them more than anybody we do play. If Lutz won one game next year and it was against the Heels, Judy would probably give him a one year extension.

Do you really think very many people give a shit what color jersey we wear? Everything you posted except Solarte being right was already known to be true. And you were dead wrong about Solarte being correct. Another local media member that doesn't have a clue. Are you related to Mark Packer?

The response to the color of jersey was what this thread started with. I found that point of contention to be a little off base and thought I would get things back on the important issue. I didn't necessarily saw that you cared, but it was brought up.

I never said anything that I offered was inside information. What Charlotte cleared on the WF and UM games last year was probably slightly inside, but nothing you probably couldn't have found out if you really wanted to. Insulting me doesn't do either of us any good. If you disagree, then you can disagree with a little more class than telling me I don't have a clue. And people wonder where the stereotypes come from.

Solarte and I both were on the court at the regionals this year (on a Wednesday, a non-game day) when North Carolina was just going through a 35-minute shoot around and 11,000 people showed up. That (to me) is a pretty good indicator that the place would be full of baby blues if the two teams played and tickets were open season. Maybe not 95%-5%, but a lot closer to that than 50-50. Or maybe I don't have a clue. You don't know me well enough to say that either way.

That's the NCAA regional practice. Like I said, Monday night, November 06, no way 11,000 baby blues were there to watch the Heels struggle with Winthrop. I was 10 rows back from the corner.

I don't think it would be higher than 70-30 in the crowd. The students and even casual fans of Niner Nation would treat it like Cincy, Louisville, or Marquette with Dwayne Wade. Which drives me nuts, cause I get up for every Niner game. But that's another story.

I might be wrong about this, but I don't think the whole arena was open for the UNC/Winthrop game because it was actually an NIT Tournament game and that was the configuration the tournament wanted.

You probably are. There were some people in the upper level, all right near center court, nobody beyond ten rows. It was open. Heel "fans" are not Kentucky or Indiana fans, by any stretch.

I looked it up, attendance for the game was 7362 according to the box. Unless you want to argue that 4,000 more people would show up for a practice than a game, I think it's safe to say the arena had a reduced configuration.

Seeing how most are going to arrive in town for the week for the 4 days of games, that doesn't surprise me. I have a hard time thinking the Tarheel fans are going to make a game against the 49ers worth an entire week visit to Charlotte, for one game compared to the block of the games for the tourney. Also, tickets weren't necessary to goto their practice, and it was close to the lunch hour downtown. If my office was close enough I would have gone and I grew up a Duke fan.

What? It doesn't take a week trip to go to Charlotte for a game. It's only 2 hours to Chapel Hill and like you said they put 11,000 people in the stands from downtown lunch break. Why would those people have to take a week trip to Charlotte.

Realistically I think it would be fairly close to evern becuase I can't imagine Tarheel fans giving a shit about a UNCC game.
