I knew this response was emerge. It maybe not be "our" house based on fan population, but it's "our" house based on the fact that Charlotte plays in Charlotte. It's really simple. It's obvioulsy not Chapel Hill's house. This could all be avoided if the Heels came to Halton, but we know that isn't going to happen.

UNC was playing basketball in Charlotte before UNCC probably even had a D1 team, so it's going to be kind of tough to make that argument stick.

It'd be like Manhattan saying that NYC was "their" town over Syracuse.

And, since no one ever bothered to actually answer it, I'll ask again. What, exactly does UNCC bring to the table that UNC couldn't get from any other school?

Isn't Charlotte considered the host school during the tournament?

Did the Davidson/Chapel Hill game sellout? I don't think it did, but I don't remember.

Any truth to the rumor UNCC is thinking of moving down to Division II?

    If not, there should be

I was there too. Davidson basically filled the student section behind the rim and the lower section directly behind their bench. Other than that, not much red at all.

According to Wiki, the capacity for college b-ball is 20,200. The ESPN boxscore had attendence at 19,299. So, no it doesn't look like it sold out.

I don't know but the dook/davidson game had more people in that building than either of the two Bobcat games I've been to.

Sellout or not, UNCC vs Fresno State isn't bringing 19,000 people to downtown Charlotte.

I'm not saying Chapel Hill couldn't get more from any other school and that's not really the point. Roy called Lutz, he didn't call any other school. It's painfully obvious that a team in a town over 100 miles away shouldn't expect to come into a town, which the opposing team calls home, and expect to be the home team. To expect that reeks of arrogance and an "holier than thou' attitude.
