Roy doesn't want to take that chance, and I can't really blame him.

I doubt Roy would worry about that. There are what, like a billion Heel fans and only a small number of Charlotte fans? The Heels would have no problem filling up the place no matter the ticket distribution.

that makes more sense, now that I think about it. More Heels fans in the building, but truth be told, there would be more Heel fans at TWCA anyway.

It really doesn't matter who controls the tickets if its played there. At Halton, likely 5% Heel fans. TWCA? 80% Heels (sorry 49ers, but that's the reality).

I totally agree solarte which is why I'm arguing it's the principle of the thing. Wanting to control the tickets is just silly when the Heels would have many more fans anyway. It's arrogance more than anything.

    2 against 1, VP.

    You lose.

    UNC is arrogant.

    The end.

Not trying to start a battle, but does it seem right to come into another team's home city and declare yourself the home team? Am I the only one, besides Solarte, that sees that as a little odd?

    Ya'll two go at it.

I don't intend for this to be another Charlotte versus the world thread. I just can't see how one team can come into another team's city and ask to be the home team and control everything.

Since I broke the story on the other board after talking with a Charlotte basketball coach last week, I'll chime in.

Roy made the offer to Lutz, asking if he'd be interested in playing uptown. Bobby said to continue on, Roy then says that UNC-Chapel Hill would be the home team (wear the white uniforms) and would handle the ticket distribution. That means that the game would not be a part of the 49ers' season ticket package and UNCC was more or less relegated to any block of tickets that the UNC-CH ticket office wished to provide. In other words, they would have all of the lower level side court seating, Charlotte would possibly get an end zone, or most likely only in the upper level. Bobby told Roy that he wasn't interested under those conditions.

The two coaches are still discussing a future game or two, but IMO, the 49ers are better off to play them in the Dean Dome than to accept this offer.

By the way, Davidson controlled the tickets for their game with the Tar Heels last season.

Pre Season #1 team in nation gives you the opportunity to play them on national tv.
Opportunity to again show the nation that UNCC can hang and maybe knock off U N C
That alone could influence a high school player to consider UNCC

Wake Forest & Maryland could do the same.

    Forget U N C .
