I'm sure we'll be hearing "well if ____ doesn't build the ______s a new arena they might just head to Seattle" for years to come.

I know they have a northwest team in Portland but Portland is a really small market as is Oklahoma City. They need that big northwest market in Seattle. Just 10 years ago they were one of the best teams in the NBA

Portland was ranked as the 5th best market for adding another pro team.

THE BOTTOM LINE: I think the NBA will return to Seattle in about 3-5 years playing in a new arena (I think Seattle would be smart to just spend the $500 million to build a new arena from scratch vs. renovating KEY ARENA A-G-A-I-N). I think you will see Las Vegas or Kansas City get the other expansion team to go up to a 32 team league (4 4 team divisions in each conference). Perhaps Bill Gates will own the new Sonics :) :) . . Allowing Seattle to keep the team name & colors seems to me a good faith effort that the NBA wants to return to the Emerald City, which is a good sign.

Well Paul Allen owns the seahawks as well as the trailblazers, why not move them to Seattle?

Attendance has been dropping for years. No one cares about the NBA anymore. These smaller markets are the best place for the big cities' sloppy seconds.

Move the Bobcats to Seattle, maybe we can get a MLB or NHL team here.

Outlaws would be my pick. The name fits with the NBA image too.
