Per Breaking News at ESPN. Makes sense, he's from LA, has his first child on the way. Making less money than the deal with Golden State (17+ mil verses this ~13) but IMO a better chance to win assuming Elton Brand comes back and this signing should have him encouraged

he gave up 1 year 17 million, but just got a guaranteed 65 million over 5 years so that was a no brainer. always figured he would end up in LA at some point in his career. still one of my favorite players in the NBA.

Yep, he's one of the ones it still hurts for me to watch.

    Sucks.

Good for him, though. I know he was hoping the Clips would draft him 4th, glad he wasn't a bitch about it.

Anyone remember his 91' hookshot against Milwaukee? It's still the longest FG in NBA history I'd wager.

Also, his 4 point play that didn't count against Orlando in the playoffs, one of the most amazing sequences I've ever seen. It should have counted and it forced the NBA to modify their rule, luckily the Whorenets won that game in OT anyway.

Was that the end of regulation play? I've always thought that was a little fishy, along with Mashburn's "mystery viral illness and B12 deficiency."

Somebody go ask Tim Donahue about it...

I was at that game. The TWolves had to call timeout after that dunk... the TWolves bench was laughing at Garnett. Even Garnette gave props to BD after the timeout.

Yeah, I believe there was .3 on the clock and the NBA rule said there couldn't be a shot taken that fast.

BD caught the inbound pass and flung it from his hip in one motion, the clock was late starting and the ref (rightly by the rule) blew the shot off before it went in. I guess it was only a 3 pointer (not a four point play like I said above) but he banked it in and further examination proved you can get a shot off in less than .3 seconds.

Mashburn getting sick was a different year, the year before the Whorenets left town. That along with Derrick Coleman just walking off the fucking court cost us a chance in the Eastern Conference Finals, a round which the Whorenets still haven't gotten to.

Too late for all that mess.

I don't want to hear it, especially since it was blatently obvious the politicians were going to build the downtown arena anyway.

All we did was chase our team out of town before we did it. Made no sense then, makes no sense now.

edit: Sorry, obviously I still miss them too ;(

We should have been allowed to keep the name/colors :(
