I agree they needed help inside, but Lopez and Okafor don't mesh well playing style wise. Neither could guard an athletic PF. Robin Lopez would've been a better fit next to Emeka than Brook was. Personal opinion though if they wanted a raw Center I wish they'd have taken DeAndre Jordan.

Slick Watts was on a Seattle radio station this morning tearing the Bobcats a new asshole over their selection of Ajinca. Time will tell, but I think Slick nailed it on this one.

Is Frenchy going to mesh will with Okafor's playing style? It just seems like passing up a seven footer who can play is a mistake.

He's more athletic than Lopez. So I guess POTENTIALLY he will, but you can't really compare him to Lopez. You can only compare Lopez's success to Augustin's.

that homo Kev must be heartbroken that Ray-Ray is on his way out of town. How in the hell could the Bobcats get rid of one of the top 25 point guards in the league?

Most places I saw, both were rated at about the same spot...anywhere from the mid-late 1st. But my point on skills is based on what I saw of Koufos in the limited Ohio State games I watched and his highlightes compared to Ajinca, as well as the reports that Ajinca outplayed Koufos when they worked out. And while Koufos may be more NBA ready, I don't think he is NBA "ready to play." IMO, just like Ajinca, he'll sit the bench while he develops.

All that is said with the caveat that I have only seen the one highlight of Ajinca, and saw very little of Koufos as well. So by no means am I saying Ajinca is 100% a better option, it's just my limited impressions of what I have read and seen from them.

Ajinca is listed as a PF in a few places. From what I gather, he will be a player more in the mold of KG (style, not skill), an athletic 7' PF. So if that is indeed true, then yes, he will mesh with Okafor better than Lopez.

You know, the problem is that noone really knows anything about Ajinca. He played so few minutes and had such limited stats, that nobody can get a solid read on him (that includes the so-called experts). I think that's why so many Bobcat fans are upset. The only thing they know about him is that he didn't average many points or rebounds, and at least some of the college kids are somewhat known.

On another board, a guy from France stated that the reason Ajinca didn't get much time was that he was on a team with some very good vets up front, then went to another team with an established front court. And as the young guy, had to wait his turn. The implication was that it wasn't Ajinca's talent, but the situation that kept him from playng more and having better stats.

For me, it comes down to the fact that I didn't like any of the other project bigs. I don't see one that I think will be an impact player or key cog in a championship team. So I take the fact that Ajinca supposedly outplayed the other guys when matched up with them, and LB really likes his ability as a reason to be somewhat optimistic. Not to mention, I really like the skills he showed in his workout video.

I guess time will tell if either of our guy will be any good. Given this franchise's record I will not hold my breath...

What a stupid draft for Charlotte. I didn't get to see it until about halfway through the second round and when I saw who Charlotte drafted, I was sick.
    Just horrible.
