    and if you would like to read back in this thread, my very first post was about the rules of offside which is one of my biggest pet peeves with officiating. i didn't enter this thread attack you. so, get over yourself.

    The ten page bitchfest probably could have been avoided if someone had mentioned the last defender rule. If the last defender takes out an attacker (professional foul) it usually results in a straight red card.

    But Collin quoting Blatter is fricking awesome, that fucker is a complete dick (Blatter). I loved watching Platini as a kid but it sounds like he's giving Blatter a run for his money in the biggest tool department (his foreign player rule that goes against everything the EU stands for).

    Not all tackles from behind are straight reds, usually they will result in a yellow, if its reckless a red is highly possible. If its the last defender he'll get a red for sure (unless mark clattenburg is reffing). But tackle from behind and your at the mercy of the ref, not paragraph 14 or whatever.

    All that crap Blatter was yapping about was prior to the world cup. They usually tweak a rule here or there in the hopes of making the game more fluid. But it is not an automatic red for challenging from behind. I dont care what that guber spouts. Watch a game and you'll see most decisions are subject to the refs interpretation.

    All that said...Go Spain

    Hopefully after the Euros we'll add Villa and Silvas too.
