The fact that you're willing to lie like this is just disgusting. I realize that at this point you're just making an ass of yourself to make me angry. Mission Accomplished. People know that you're a lying dickhead and that you can push my buttons. Congratulations, maybe someone can put that on your tombstone.
The shit I keep quoting is what was added to the rules in 1998. It stayed exactly the same from 1998 to 2005, at which point extra emphasis was added to dangerous front and side tackles in addition to keeping the red card for all tackles from behind.
    More than you, apparently.
EVERYONE MAKE SURE YOU SEE THIS. VPKOZEL JUST CLAIMED TO BE AN "EXPERT" ON SOCCER.

That's especially amusing given how you repeatedly claimed that I was trying to paint myself as an expert. I'm not, but that hasn't stopped me from knowing more about the rules than you do.
" A tackle from behind, which endangers the safety of an opponent, must be sanctioned as serious foul play."

My behavior shows that I care about finding the truth. People have seen me admit my faults and my errors countless times, just as they've seen you lie and spout endless bullshit to avoid admitting even the simplest mistake. This is why people respect my opinion a hell of a lot more than they do yours, because people know that I'm not just saying something to make myself look good. They know I believe it, and that if I am proven wrong, that I'll acknowledge it and correct myself. You, on the other hand, are known to be a right-wing version of Superfluous_Nut. You guys are two sides of the same coin.
" A tackle from behind, which endangers the safety of an opponent, must be sanctioned as serious foul play."

He's already made a post confirming what I said and saying that you're wrong. Don't hide behind whatever reluctance he may feel to get involved you being a lying shit to keep from admitting your mistake.
YOU ONLY POSTED ONE PART OF LAW 12 - RULES AND MISCONDUCT. YOU CONVENIENTLY LEFT OUT THE PART THAT PROVED YOU WRONG, SOMETHING I HAVE NOW POSTED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN WHILE YOU CONTINUE TO LIE AND BE A DUMB PIECE OF SHIT.

I don't know. I am not an expert on soccer and don't pretend to be. I'm a fan and I played up until high school, but I'm far from an expert. That's why I checked to make sure that I knew what I was talking about here. That's why I found multiple links confirming what I thought before I exposed vpkozel as they know-nothing, lying asshole that he is.

What I would like to know is why you're being an ass to me when vpkozel is the lying dickhead here.

what i get out of what your posting collin is that it's up to the official to decide whether the tackle endagers another player.

i know when i ref'ed games that we were given the discretion to decide the severity of a foul. or whether i thought a hand ball was intentional. stuff like that.

i'm not sure if that's what vp is trying to get across but i think you may be getting upset over semantics.

either that or vp is getting a KICK out of this.

whoah, watch out. Pun thread outta no where.

No, that's not true at all. As I had repeatedly posted, FIFA added Directive 4 to Law 12 - Rules and Misconduct in 1998 to make all tackles from behind subject to a red card because tackles from behind "endanger the safety of the opponent" by their very nature. It is not supposed to be up to referee discretion, although it's absolutely true that sometimes refs refuse to give a red, which is why I was initially confused about the red/yellow aspect. By the rules, however, it is always supposed to be a red as confirmed by numerous links I've already posted.
The FIFA rules do leave that kind of thing up to discretion, and specifically say so in the book. That is not part of Directive 4, however. It doesn't say only give a red if you think it was a particularly vicious tackle from behind, it says that tackles from behind are by their nature a danger to the player and therefore should be red carded.
Vp has no point, he's just pissed that he got caught pretending to know everything and he doesn't want to admit his mistake. Did you miss the part about how vpkozel claimed that the '98 rule was never implemented? Did you see where I linked to stories proving that it was implemented? Have you seen him admit that he misspoke? No. He continues to lie and equivocate because he's a coward who will try and cover up any errors he makes. Whatever you think of me, have you seen me do that or have you seen me be a man and admit when I'm actually wrong about something?
That's part of it. He's trying to distract from the fact that he was proven unquestionably wrong about several things in this thread because he has a functional inability to admit that he's wrong about something. This entire thread would have gone a lot differently if he simply had the maturity to acknowledge that he is human and he does make mistakes. Instead he lies and bullshits to try and cover up his errors, making things much worse than they needed to be.

    Once again:

    http://www.indianexpress.com/res/web/pIe/ie/daily/19980312/07150564.html

PARIS, March 11 (1998): FIFA on Tuesday told coaches and referees that all tackles from behind should be punished with a red card at the World Cup finals.

``All tackling from behind is considered to endanger the physical integrity of the opponent, so no tackling from behind will be tolerated by Fifa,'' the world body's general secretary Sepp Blatter said.

``Officially from July 1, but effectively from the kick-off of the World Cup finals on June 10, all tackles from behind will be sanctioned by a red card everywhere on the field of play,'' he told a news conference at the end of Fifa's World Cup workshop with the 32 finalists.

The international football association board, the game's law making body, passed an amendment to Law 12 on Fouls and Misconduct at a meeting last month.

The amendment designates the tackle from behind as serious foul play and therefore a sending-off offence.

However, referees at the workshop wondered whether the tackle had physically to endanger a player for the tackler to be sent off. Blatter told referees that all tackles from behind should receive red cards.

``It's impossible for the referee to see if a tackle is dangerous or not because all tackles from behind put in danger the physical integrity of the opponent,'' he said.

Fuck dude, you are gettinb more and more pathetic. I have contniuously posted the actual FIFA rules. You've posted letters from the Manitoba ref society.

Good Lord. You have a quote from Blatter. I have given you the actual FIFA timeline as to what specifically changed. Because you are such a moron on this subject and interested only in trying to argue with me, I guess that I will post it again.

That is straight from FIFA's website detailing the history of the rules changes. Please tell me how that means that all tackles from behind are reds.

That's funny. You claim to be an expert on many things.

No, you think you know more than me because you are an overly self agggrandizing aasshole and are trying to argue something which you clearly have no knowledge.

which endangers the safety of an opponent. Exactly. Thanks.

You don't care anything at all about the truth, which is plain for all to see. The part where you admited to being a serial liar in order to "win" debate points on the internet made that patently obvious.

Maybe you'll realize that phrase totally supports my position. I don't have much hope though.

He made a post that agreed with you, yes. Too bad the links tha I provided from FIFA prove you both wrong.

Post the full text of rule 12 then and show which parts that I left out.

That's not what it says. It lays out two criteria. A tackle from behind and endangering the opponent.

Incorrect, as Blatter's own comments about his frustration with the inconsistency clearly demonstrate.

    Explain this then, asswipe.

lmao. You making comments on someone's maturity is a fucking hoot.
