Curt Schilling is undergoing season ending surgery on his throwing shoulder very soon. He is 41 and depending on what type of surgery, he could me the rest of this season and next. I doubt at 43 he would attempt a comeback, so is he a Hall of Famer?

Obviously came up big in postseason, but is it enough?

He was very good, but doesn't quite measure up to the pitching greats of this era. Maddux, Clemens, Pedro, Randy Johnson, and others were clearly superior.

If I had a vote, I would have to say no. Shilling is best known for the Bloody Sock game and his post season record is fantastic. I would think that he is a little short of Cooperstown though. If Bert Blylevin can't get in, I don't see how Shilling makes it.

When looking at the numbers, he compares pretty favorably with Smoltz aside from saves.

Used to be one of my all time favorites. But I got so tired of him forcing his opinions (political) on every reporter who approached him.

As far as HOF caliber. I say no

How is Blyleven not in? What about Jack Morris?

Because neither of them were great. Morris in particular had some great moments, but not a career worthy of the Hall of Fame.
