    good article

interesting in that oppressed gays often point to religion and "the Christian right" as being at the root of their oppression. Yet, ironically, gay and legislation benefitting gays can, and has, wound up causing harm to people based on their religious beliefs.

if this what is often referred to as a motherfucking conundrum?

Did you even read the article?

    Here were the 1st 2:

And if you don't think that there will soon be a discrimination suit against a church that refuses to perform a gay marriage, then you are fooling yourself.

How exactly are the two examples you listed not clear cut cases of discrimination?

Is a church generally open to the public (not private)? Do they enjoy tax exempt status? Would the only reason they would refuse to perform a recognized public state function be on the basis of sexuality?

Damn right there will be a lawsuit. And they are going to lose it.

That's the point, genius. Only far left liberals think they should have to face such a lawsuit, but that's the inevitable consequence of these rulings.

The doctor's case is interesting. Of course, anyone can sue anyone over anything. I'd have more concern if the State was bringing the case and it wasn't a civil action.

The Catholic adoption case may fall into state licensing and regulatory areas. It would be more enlightening to have a bit more info on the cases than a few talking points.

If the state moves to have religious groups forced to perform the ceremony or even open their doors to those they "shun" because of doctrinal issues, we have a major problem.

Why? I'm an atheist, should the Catholic Church be forced to give me communion?

Not if it is a private organization. Not if it pays taxes like other private organizations. Not if it relinquishes its state functions of marrying taxpayers.

They shouldn't have to face these lawsuits, genius. They should relinquish their state functions and pay taxes. And if they want to avoid giving communion to atheists like Vito, then become a private organization. It is really quite simple. They abide by the same rules as every other organization.
