Even if it was Pierce, that was pathetic "olé" defense.

Oh, absolutely. The Lakers just got up by 24 and shut it down.

He's only got himself to blame after Game 4. His teammates built that huge lead, he did nothing.

Anyway, they get Bynum back next year. They are young and talented and could be rather scary for the forseeable future.

i think the west is tougher because there are a number of legit teams. in the east, you've got the celtics and aging pistons the up-and-coming magic and lebron james. going by record alone, the west has 9 of the top 12 teams. of the teams with losing records, the west has 5 the east has 9.

so in general, yeah, the west is stronger.

is he? i know he's an annoying defender, but i didn't think he was really supposed to be a tough one. he reaches and gambles which is what got him on that last play. of course, he probably should have had some help behind him.

Gasol should have stepped up. Not sure it would have mattered much. At best, an easy shot for Garnett.

Still, Sasha was complaining that the refs were calling fouls when he bodied up. Can't give that much room in the final minute, refs really hate to call much.

Except that the Lakers had a much easier time coming out of the west than the Celtics did coming out of the East. And then the Celtics manhandled the Lakers.

The Celtics didn't battle through tougher competition. They didn't lose three times to Atlanta because the Hawks were good. That said, it is kind of interesting that the East and West have revived the old stereotypes about "all D" and "no D." The Western playoffs were more fun to watch, but toughness and rebounding generally win out.

Celtics mailed it in, especially during the first series. Add in LeBron being LeBron and Ray Allen sucking hard in the divisionals, and it ends up looking like the Celtics had a harder road.

    They didn't.
