In theory at least. In reality you get extremely tough pairings like Group C and extremely weak ones like Group D. I know that Greece won last time and my friends over there were out of their minds, but it was a total fluke. Aside from Spain, Group D is ass in a can.

Spain is due to win one of these things. They have all this talent and through bad luck or choking (take your pick) and never seem to win the big prize. That said, the Netherlands looked great beating the shit out of Italy. I can only imagine what the papers in Italy were saying the next day.

No England in Euro2008 really gives me no one to cheer for. How the fuck do they not even qualify????

Now, is this the same Ronaldo previously from Brasil ? If so, did he move to Portugal or something, or can anyone play on these teams regardless of nationality ?

No, this guy is Cristiano Ronaldo. He's a whining ass, but unfortunately he's also extremely talented.

That always happens - there is a "group of death" and one where a team or two is overranked.

Anyway - I agree with you on the dutch, they have always been one of my faves. I just hope MVB can get them to move past their disfunctionality, They looked unreal today again though. They have some real class in that squad.

7 goals in 2 games by the Netherlands is unreal.

Having been a Dutch fan for over a decade, though, I'm just waiting for the inevitable letdown. Their success has been incredible for fans because I hate seeing this conservative style that has become so prevalent, but it's become prevalent because it works. Holland still looks a little shaky on the back, and I worry about teams that play sound defense and take advantage of mistakes. I have my orange jersey (that no longer fits), though, so I'm hoping they go all the way.

Aren't the Dutch the ones that like their fries with mayo? Or is that in Belgium?

    That's pretty much Europe.
