It is indeed a spider bite via a brown recluse. Doctor said to trash the bactrim and he gave me avelox because it actually had some teeth. He said it could end up being really bad so he's having me back next week for another looksee. I also got some roids and cream for the poison ivy that showed up yesterday. Woohoo!

If that is a brown recluse bite and that's all the damage it did- you're a lucky man. Look up brown recluse bites on google. They usually cause massive tissue death around the bite area.

When I was doing home health, I had a client that got bitten by one on the top of her head and they had to do skin graphs on her scalp plus MONTHS of IV antibiotics.

My doc just put me on Avelox for a severe sinus and double ear infection.

Glad your bite didn't get any worse. Seems as if you caught it in time before it got out of hand.

Glad you asked Fred! I think it's a little better. Not as much swelling, but very red. It's also getting more red down by the second bite above the primary wound. Still little to no pain, but very itchy. It's weird. I go back to the doctor Wednesday. It looks bad, but not near as bad as some of the pictures I've seen on the interweb. There's almost zero drainage now. Wednesday night it was like a damned waterfall.
