Pippen lead the Bulls in every stat category in 94-95. points, assists, rebounds, blocks and steals(led league). Odom has never sniffed that.

It's not possible to put Shaq on the all time list. How can a professional player making millions be such a bad free throw shooter? He cost his teams some games maybe some championships because of his bricks from the line. If he is such a great player, why did his coaches get him out of the game late? An all time great should be able to shoot at least 70% from the line. Th

jordan beat horace grant and pippen in back to back one on one games one time in chicago. they were getting uppity and thought that they deserved to be the top dog.

that being said, you can throw stats out there all day, but only a moron is gonna compare odom to pippen. it's not black and white like stats show.

pippen's role in that offense was to be a catalyst for the triangle. paxon, armstrong and later on harper were there to be another part of the triangle for jordan and pippen. you put odom at the top of the triangle and he's ultimately ineffective and has been since the san antonio series.

    carry on.

Translation: "I have absolutely no evidence to back up what I'm saying, but because I can't understand the comparison, I disagree with it and you're a moron!"

Both Odom and Pippen underachieved offensively. They both had the talent to be better than they were, but the fact is that they had similar levels of uninspiring production. I suggest you stop bitching and let it go until you have something legitimate to add.

Pippen wasn't really an elite player, I don't see too many saying that. And there are simularities. I just find those weaknesses greater in Odom than Pippen. He gave you his numbers, consistently. Pippen was overrated, sure, but Odom is mind numbingly inconsistent. He teases you that he will be better game in game out than he is.

Despite the statistical simularities, Pippen had a better ability to get his own shot, and a greater willingness to actually take the shot despite missing a few early ones, and nobody considered him soft. He was the last guy you double Jordan with.

And defense is half the game. Odom isn't guarding anyone worth a damn if you can help it. You have to hide him against the weaker post player.

In short, Pippen wasn't top 50 good. I question whether Odom is a top 50 player active.

That's their one big difference offensively. But yeah, Pippen's vastly superior defense made him valuable anyway.
