Fuck Kobe. I think when healthy either team in the east should beat the Lakers. I think Gasol is soft like the rest of the Lakers. If Ray Allen can wake up from his recent shooting slump the Celtics should win

and don't forget the refs - they came up big in game four.

Not that it really mattered. Lakers had that series anyway.

I think they win it all. Celtics have looked shaky much of the playoffs.

I guess you can say the gamble Boston took in the off season was worth it for sure now. They made the finals and had a record setting regular season. Even if they lose in the finals they were smart to pull the trigger on the moves they made. LA has to be happy with their moves as well putting enough talent around Kobe to get it done. It is kind of interesting that neither team really built up to this through the draft but can trace their success to trades.

You mean how McHale gift wrapped KG for Ainge, and West convinced the Grizzlies to give up Gasol for a pair of sneakers and a keg of Coors Light?

    Yeah, that is interesting.

It was Mitch Kupchek or whatever, but yeah, good point.

I actually was thinking about this last week, before Ray Allen finally had a couple of decent games. The whole KG to Boston thing never would have happened had Allen not come, and Allen was playing so well that I was thinking they might be better right now with Jeff Greene. As far as getting KG, at least Boston gave up a decent young player.

LA flat out stole a top 5 PF in his prime and gave up very little to get him. It's dubious at best.

I'm not sure Mitch did anything other than say, uh, ok. A year after West resigns as the Grizzlies GM and goes to work as a "consultant" to the Lakers, it just happened that the Grizzlies sent over their best player for some late first rounders and Kwambe Freaking Brown. What a cowinkidink.

Yeah I saw what you meant after I responded, at first I thought you were saying West was GM, but the ties between the two organizations are dubious as fuck. Where is the veto option for the rest of the league? I doubt any other organization would even have OK'd the deal.

I'm pretty sure David Stern would put a dead horse in the bed of any owner who thought about causing a fuss.
