You can't find anyone that's not pulling for Hamilton to bury his demons. He is very good player. He is not great...yet. To imply that he is one of the greatest ever is............:toilet:

one of the greatest 10,000 players. At this point in his career it's stupid to say that he is one of the best EVER. Yes, he is one of the best in the game today, but so is alfonso soriano. Soriano has a better "best ever" status than hamilton, mainly because he has had a 40/40 season; but saying that Soriano is or will be one of the best ever is ludacris. You obviously don't know a whole lot about baseball when you judge a player by one or two seasons as having "best ever" status.

You obiously don't understand the original thrust of this post. It was to say that Hamilton, without the Preformancing Enhancing Drugs, and recovering from illegal drugs is potentially the best player in baseball today and who knows, maybe of all time.

He was discribed, and not by me, to be better than Mickey Mantle. Relish in the fact that this young man, has, and will/may continue to overcome an addiction, that is far beyond what we have ever knew. The MLB is not testing him to find HGH, but street stuff that is killing our society.

And by the way, if you know anyting about baseball talent, just keep watching him get better.

And then tell me how good he is.

Yes, we all got it, you just don't want to accept that what you said was an indefensible exaggeration.
You have no idea whether or not he's using PEDs, and to blindly assume that he isn't doing so is foolish.
It's a good story, and we're all happy that he's turned his life around. Hopefully he continues to stay clean.
Except that he isn't. He's a very talented player, but his numbers are greatly influenced by playing in an extremely hitter-friendly home ballpark. Just look at his home/road splits. He has a 1.154 OPS at home, which is tremendous, but only a .815 OPS on the road, which is very ordinary. When A-Rod was with the Rangers he was putting up bigger numbers in that ballpark and doing better than Hamilton on the road.
When you say stupid things, you really shouldn't be surprised when someone calls you stupid. Right?
    Lots of people exaggerate.
Hamilton is 27, meaning that he's already in his prime. He's probably not going to get any better than he is right now, which is very good and perhaps even great, but not one of the greatest of all-time. Not even close.

I wouldn't think so, given that any reporter caught exaggerating in their story would lose their job. I do find it funny, though, that you're so hurt by that argument that you're bringing into other threads several days later.

I don't understand. You said I was wrong about something, I provided proof from SI showing that I was correct, and now you're saying that you're going to keep bringing up your own failure? Are you really stupid enough that you don't even realize you're supposed to feel embarrassed about the situation?

well considering it wasn't even in a commentary about the draft, just an SI reporters NCAA tourney preview of the Tar Heels - plus it was just a general statement about Stepheson's physical appearance ( exactly how much of that article talked about Stepheson anyway?) - you haven't proven anything.

To top it off you actually believe Stepheson will be one of the top 13 players taken in the draft based on what he has done so far in his college career. And I'm the one that should be embarrassed?

    lol

    you really are a nutjob
