Stop trying to tell me what I think. Because you're wrong.

Here's a little debating tip: insulting somebody doesn't mean you win.

I'm wracking my brain to try to remember a Stepheson play that wasn't a dunk, alleyoop or putback. If you've got one, I'd really like to see it. Maybe I'm just not remembering it, I'd like to see some sort of move that showed offensive ability. Funny you mention Ben Wallace; both guys are 6'9, athletic, and shoot sub .500 from the free throw line. Wallace was not drafted.

Good job completely ignoring the part which actually gives me credence - I PLAY a lot of basketball. And not only do I play, I work hard on it improving my game and learning the game. Which is why my opinion is more valid than your opinion. Football, I'll give you all the credit in the world. Not basketball though.

Hansbrough is the machine that drives the UNC offense. If you've not noticed, teams like to double & triple team him. You take away UNC's best perimeter shooter, and doubles and triple teams are going to come with greater frequency, which is most likely going to limit Hansbrough. You add the fact that Hansbrough can't pass his way out of a paper bag, and you have a big problem.

There's a reason Ellington was 2nd on the team in minutes and Danny Green was 4th behind Lawson. If you don't space the floor and give Hansbrough sufficient room to work, the offense is going to grind to a halt.

You're usually not this subtle in your insults Collin, I'm disappointed.

Maybe, but you would lie even if I wasn't, and it sure seems convenient that you would suddenly remember this information right before coming here and reading it in my post.
No, it doesn't. Me providing evidence that proves you wrong means that I win. I only insult you because you deserve it.
Wallace also got a near max contract. When Wallace entered the draft, teams weren't that concerned with defense. That was a more open era, whereas now clubs are specifically looking for those types of guys. Plus I already pointed out several guys similar to Stepheson who did go in the teens of the draft.
This is easily the most hilarious thing you've ever said. I mean I obviously think that you're a moron and that you've proven it many times over, but the fact that you actually believe that playing basketball in some rec league at the gym makes you a credible authority on judging future pros is absolutely hilarious. I'm going to bookmark this thread just for days when I need a laugh.

And for the record, Amateur Jordan, many of those idiots who pollute sports talk radio also play basketball. Shooting some jumpers with your buddies absolutely does not make you able to evaluate talent, and it's just stunningly hysterical that you would suggest otherwise. Good grief.
Except that I keep kicking your ass in one basketball argument after another. This is another example of what I was saying earlier about you wanting to pretend that you're some kind of basketball authority. You denied it, but then you prove it right here with this nonsense. You desperately want to believe that you're an authority on this because you need to believe it in order to feel like your opinion has value. But you aren't an authority, you don't know much about anything, and your opinion doesn't have value. Deal with it.
Bullshit. Hansbrough gets double and triple teamed even with Ellington. And it's not like Wayne was the only guy on Carolina's roster capable of hitting a jumper. Ellington had the most 3s, but Green wasn't that far behind and didn't have a much lower percentage. Carolina always has scorers, but as I've said fifteen thousand times, when they lose it's generally because of poor interior defense and rebounding.
Once again you prove your ignorance. Hansbrough is a good passer, as he shows whenever he's on the wing or in transition. The problem, if it even is one, is that he chooses not to pass back out once he gets it in the post. And for the record, even if he was a bad passer out of the post, how would having Ellington on the wing then be such a help? If he can't pass back out, it wouldn't matter who is out there, would it? Nice logic there, buddy.
Huh? Much if not most of Carolina's points come in transition, dumbass. Good lord, do you watch basketball at all? They are not a half-court team.
It wasn't an insult. I was making the point that some people have an eye for talent (me) and most don't (the rest of you). That's just reality.

    blah blah blah.

We'll see what happens. If Stepheson gets drafted in the lottery, I'll admit I was wrong.

Otherwise, I expect the same from you.

That's the best comeback you could come up with? Come on, Clay, tell us more about how playing basketball at the gym gives you the expertise to evaluate pro prospects. I'm curious to hear more from you about that. And for the record, I always admit when I actually am wrong about something. You, on the other hand, almost never do.

I'm still waiting for you to give me some proof of your expertise on the evaluation of pro prospects.

I almost never do? Hell, I've done it twice in this thread alone. Stop lying.

Waiting? I just gave you examples, and you already know that I've been writing professionally about the NFL draft for six years now with an impressive rate of accuracy. And as I noted, it's not just football. I probably don't spend nearly as much time evaluating prospects as people who get paid to do so year round, but I'm much better at it. Why? Because I have a talent for doing it. Meanwhile you have no discernible talent at anything, or at least none that you've demonstrated on this board.
It's always funny to see people who persistently lie try to diffuse that accusation by turning it back around on the accuser. It's the adult equivalent of "I know you are but what am I?" The fact is that people have seen me admit when I actually am wrong about something, when I have no idea what two things you'd even be referring to regarding your own supposed admissions. What I do know is that you're still humiliating yourself by arguing the Stepheson thing even though I provided an article from SI proving my statement. You rarely ever admit that you're wrong even though you are wrong with regularity.

Once again, do yourself a favor and shut the hell up. You are not remotely equipped to argue with anyone of above average intelligence, and the longer you keep talking, the more you say idiotic things like you playing basketball at the gym gives you the ability to say who has NBA potential. Heed the old adage about letting people think you're stupid rather than opening your mouth and proving it.

Ok Collin, I bow to your infinite intelligence and your knowledge of all things. I am wrong about everything I've ever uttered.

Maybe that will keep you warm tonight in your mom's basement or whatever hole you call home.

    So Collin...

How do suppose this conversation went down

SI - Staples - "So what do you thing of Alex Stepheson from UNC?"

NBA Scout - "I drool for him."

NBA Scout - "I agree. When he takes off his warmups he makes me drool."

SI - Staples - "Thanks gentlemen. Now I have at least one good thing to say about him in my preview of the Tar Heels."

It's honestly weird that you keep bringing this up when you were rather embarrassingly proven wrong, wossa. It's pretty humorous, really. I know that you're exceptionally dumb, but I can't decide if you really don't understand what happened or if this is all just an act you hope will confuse people into forgetting that you were wrong.

ok ok I'll admit I was wrong.

You really did find an article that used Alex Stepheson and NBA scout in the same sentence.

    happy now?
