I have a group of documents that I'd like to email. They totalled 19 MB, & I put them in a zip file that is 19,426 KB.

Is that still too large a file to email? I don't want it to be a pain in the ass for the recipient to download or open.

    Thanks.

If those numbers are correct your files didn't zip at all. So the answer would be no. Try zipping it again.

    Whats your email limit?

looks like they didn't compress. 19MB isn't too big for most systems, but some adminstrators will restrict attachment sizes.

See--I told you I'm seriously tech deficient. And math deficient too (not the majors kind, smartass). I followed the instructions--I swear. I thought the amount looked like it should be about the same; but knowing my math deficiency & not trusting that my decimal point placement was actually correct--that's why I included the numbers here  I knew I could count on any mistakes being pointed out to me

It would be nice to know, someday, how to actually make file compression WORK  Not that I need it that much, especially with this file transfer service--but it would be handy.

Thanks for all the help, y'all.

If you're using Winzip or WindowsXP to zip and compress, those work just fine. But you have to remember that some files won't compress. That's probably what's happened here.

Ah--thank you. Any way to know which ones those are? I mean besides trying a couple times & being able to calculate between KB & MB properly? Just curious.
