    That's what you get when the majority of your pitching staff is made up of 40+ year old players and Mike Hampton. The Braves are screwed.

    Hamton left a rehab start again today. It looks like he is done. Smoltz is on the DL and vowing to return as a closer again.

    Smoltz as the closer might work out better for him with the problems he's had. Now all we need is help getting TO the closer.

    I've watched a lot of baseball in my day but I can't recall a player more in the zone than Chipper Jones is right now. Pitchers can't get him to do anything but hit ropes. The ball must look like a grapefruit coming up there.

    After winning 6 in a row at home, the Braves lose twi straight at Pittsburgh. The bats go silent on the road for some reason.
