Im pretty sure no one in New Orleans was/is worried about sucking donkey balls since they have Paul now and Charlotte doesn't

True, BUT, two of those tankers will get Rose from Memphis and Beasley from KState, bringing immediate star power, $$$, more fans, and more wins to their teams. It seems the NBA is all about the superstar..if you don't have one ( see the Bobcats), you're mired in mediocrity .

Of course it does, but now instead of my team not tanking costing my team 1-2 slots, it's costing my team 4-5 slots.

Pretty steep penalty for some supposed 'chivalry' for trying to win games when others are clearly tanking/resting for the playoffs.

I'm not saying the system is good, I'm saying the system is what it is and it's cost us a shot at a great player. But looking back, I'm not so sure we weren't tanking. We just happened to win two late games against a similar tanking team in ATL.

For the record it could have been much worse, we could have ended up with Marvin had we tanked and gotten lucky in the lottery.

no guarantee by tanking games. I remember the Hornets finished .500 one year. won their last meaningless game, no playoffs , and they wind up with the 3rd pick(Baron Davis)

see Boston Celtics vs San Antonio records the year Duncan got drafted. C's thought they had that one...

    Yeah, I remember that too.

And then there's the other extreme, which is this example. Win a meaningless game at the end of the year which leads to a tiebreaker which you lose, costing you one pick and the choice of Felton or Paul.

Honestly though, in the end we're lucky to even have Felton. The Hawks are the ones who had the chips fall the way they needed to and they still screwed the pooch.

While were discussing the 05 draft. How great would Charlotte be if we'd got Paul and Danny Granger instead of that other Tarhole (cant remember his name because he never plays) at pick 13

Thats the beauty of a lottery style draft....but, the one thing they could have controlled, they screwed up.

Had the Hornets not traded Kobe, they would have no doubt won a couple of championships and been playing in uptown Charlotte without any fuss over building a new arena whatsoever. If that had happened, there would never have been a Bobcats team, and thus no controversy over Chris Paul....so really it's all George Shinn's fault.

and what if the Bobcats could have drafted Dwight Howard in 04?

    and what if...

Is there anything more pointless than "what if"? My Bobcats what if team has Dwight Howard, Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Chris Paul.

You think your what if team could beat my what if team?
