Hey...you can always get a first round pick. They needed an OT and there ws a huge run on them. I guess they saw a huge drop off after Otah.

Dudes, slow down. What would you want to give up a first round pick??? Yeah, a first rounder NEXT year. and then throw in the 2nd and 4th for the "time value" component.

Not a bad deal. Reminds me of other moves by teams to trade into the first round. Last year Cleveland traded into the #22 slot to take Quinn and gave up their future first rounder and the #36 pick....

even if it works out, it'll be steep. If we go to the Super Bowl and win, on the legs of Stewart and shoulder of Otah, then it's "worth it". In the best case scenario. And we'll have our first pick at 64.

I think we got solid players, so I'm not lynching anyone. I just hate giving up #1s.

Is Stewart, who has to recover from a toe, really that much better than a Forte or someone like that in the second? Lots of backs are available.

Hopefully he gives us some big, productive years.

    agreed.

Also, I think I would've been, oddly, better off with drafting Otah at 13 and trading up for Stewart.

OF course that would be because there are still good backs on the fucking board and it's at 22 now.

All I can think is how fucked up we were the year following the trade of our 1st rd selction by Capers. It's a HUGE risk IMO

Not happy about it; but I can deal with it from the standpoint of we got 2 of the top 20. (if they both pan out) Thinking of it as Otah as out 1st rounder next year we got a year early and the fact that Gross may be gone next year so we'd be taking the 1st on a fucking tackle any damn way.

IMO, if Otah turns out to the be franchise LT we've all been wanting, then it's worth it, Super Bowl or not. We still have two 3rd rounders to work with tomorrow...we should be able to at least get a pretty good DT and maybe a safety with one of those picks.
