    I dunno.
Honestly, Mort would know something. I don't trust McShay to know how to open baby aspirin.
On the other hand, you have Gantt, who is unsourced. You do have Glazer, who has that insider type thing going, but is also possibly working on old info (or, pre-injury info). Who knows.

To me it screams smoke, and the only solace I have in knowing this keeps getting brought up is that I don't know if they'd spend the physical cash load or the picks on a somewhat talent-poor team to make such an investment on a guy who will not immediately play.

If we do it, whatever. I'll deal with it and I'll know we have short term options that would keep him from playing. It would buy them time, possibly, though I don't know by any stretch that Fox has three years of time to sit and wait for another winner, whether they rebuild with a new QB or not. Remember, the entire 2002-03 defense is gone except for Julius Peppers.

Neither. Harvey and Otah are both deeply flawed, so I can see them pining over someone like Ryan who they believe is more likely to realize their potential, but I also agree that it's unlikely that they pull the trigger to move up that much. Also, Jake is getting old and his injury makes him a question mark, so it's not a surprise that they'd want to give Moore some additional competition to be the future of the franchise behind center. Personally I don't think Ryan is in any way an exceptional QB prospect, and I would much rather get Woodson in the 3rd if he's there. If we were to trade up that high, I'd prefer Sedrick Ellis.

Actually, despite mocking the idea earlier, a trade down wouldn't kill me if only because I don't see any guys we could use who look like good value at #13.

yeah, what a monstrous clusterfuck any of these scenarios are. Henne at 10 might be funnier than Rivers.

Teams always fall in love with arm strength. I need to find that article I did on evaluating quarterbacks. I think arm strength was 4th on my list of attributes.

For a while I fell in love with velocity. It didn't work out well.

I don't find Ryan's arm strength to be that incredible. Certainly, good, but not elite.

No, he and Henne are both above average but not exceptional. Flacco is only up there because of his arm, though. I think Ryan and Henne are helped because they look the part. NFL teams, like MLB teams, are actually swayed by whether or not a guy looks the way they want him to, meaning height and body type. Not sure why Woodson has fallen so much, though. There are no great QBs in this class, but I'd take Woodson after Ryan and he has a chance to be the best. Brohm is also decent. No thank you to Henne. I can't stand any QB who stares down receivers.
